New Service is Coming!

We’re thrilled to announce that we’re entering the film rental business, renting out important recent works for screenings at universities and festivals.
The first film we’re handling is Tale of a Butcher Shop, directed by Aya Hanabusa, which follows a family-run butcher shop in Osaka that makes its living by raising and slaughtering cattle, selling the meat. The labor, traditionally the work of the Burakumin, the discriminated outcasts of feudal Japan, is passed down from generation to generation. This is a remarkable record of a family who looks into the nature of life, every single day.
Please contact us if you want to screen this film at your institution (DVD or Blu-ray). Thank you.
